DESCRIPTION:SHEILA’S ISLAND BY TIM FIRTH \nPlaying dates:  20-25 MAY 2024 \nAudition date: 22 OCTOBER 2023 at 10am \n  \nThis brilliant new comedy presents four fantastic roles for women\, playing ages 40-55. \nBrief synopsis \nFour executives from the Pennine Mineral Water Ltd are Team C in the company’s annual team-building exercise.  Sheila has been voted as Captain and\, using her cryptic crossword solving skills\, she has stranded the girls on an island in the Lake District.  It’s foggy\, they are wet and cold and their only mobile phone has run out of battery.  How do you make a rescue flag with a plastic plate and a toasting fork?  What is Julie’s husband really up to in Aldi?  And why are they on this bloody team building exercise when they could be at a spa? \nRoles \nSheila’s capable attitude has led her to being voted Captain of the team.  As always\, she takes her responsibilities very seriously\, endeavouring to keep up her team’s morale in trying circumstances. \nDenise doesn’t do camping\, and she’s determined to make everyone else as miserable as she is.  Her caustic wit tries the patience of all her team members. \nJulie believes in always being prepared\, and seems to have bought up everything in the camping shop\, some of which comes in very handy!  Her happy demeanour is destroyed when Denise pours doubt on the faithfulness of her husband. \nFay is a gentle and thoughtful person.  She has recently been off work following a nervous breakdown\, and Sheila worries that their situation has triggered a melt-down.  But Fay has inner reserves! \nWe will also need to record a voice for the DJ of a passing pleasure cruise.  Let me know if you are interested. \nIf you’d like to borrow a script or want any more information\, please complete the audition form below or call/text me on 07850 384850. \nJill Laurie\, Director \nAs with all auditions at The Talisman Theatre\, there is very much an open audition policy in place and we welcome anyone to come along to the theatre and audition for the available roles.
