DESCRIPTION:The Talisman play reading group meets once a month; someone in the group chooses a play and obtains copies from the library or elsewhere and we make sure everyone gets an opportunity to read a part. And of course\, we have an interval; a chance for a chat and a cup of a tea or coffee with a biscuit or two.Play reading has a number of benefits. For resting actors\, there’s an opportunity to keep in touch\, to practice their skills and widen their knowledge of plays. For the Talisman\, it keeps our members in touch and provides ideas for plays we might like to put on in future. \nAlongside the youth theatre\, the Fringe and Friday night socials\, it provides a conduit for the growth and success of the Talisman Theatre. Long may the Talisman play reading group continue.

Enjoy a fusion of light-hearted entertainment from short plays\, improv\, local bands and singers which always promises an enjoyable evening.\nLaunched in 2022 these events have proven to be very popular in providing experienced and new directors the opportunity to explore some alternative plays as well as showcasing local emerging talent as well as established performers. \nAll acts are performed at 7:30pm and then repeated again at 9pm. The 7:30pm performance is always very popular so prior booking is advised for the earlier session to guarantee a seat. DESCRIPTION:Made in 48 Hours present – Queen E Rocks! \nMade in 48 Hours are back at the Talisman Theatre this summer and this year\, to join in with the celebrations of the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth I visiting Kenilworth\, we proudly present ‘Queen E Rocks’. \nFeaturing a live band\, we will be re-telling the story of Elizabeth’s reign\, well some of it anyway and parts of it may even be historically accurate\, who knows? Anything can happen! \nJoin us for the show at 7.30pm on Sunday 27th July when we can promise you an evening of ridiculousness and laughter. Book early to avoid disappointment\, tickets £15 and can be booked through the Talisman Theatre. \nFor anyone who hasn’t seen a Made in 48 Hours production\, the cast and crew will be presented with the script on the evening of Friday 25th July\, props and costumes will be sourced\, lines will be learnt (sort of) and the show will be pulled together ready for the performance on the Sunday evening. \nAll proceeds go to charity and this year our chosen charity is ‘Warwickshire Vision’ registered charity number 1123220.
