DIRECTOR'S NOTES
Why wouldn’t you want to recreate the elegance of 1940s America. The clothes, the styles the glamour of Hollywood stars!
Here was an opportunity to take the play that two very successful films, had been made from and put it on our stage and that’s what we’ve done.
I’ve always enjoyed the American ‘screwball’ comedies of Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant and now here’s my take on them. We dip into an affluent lifestyle and realise that money doesn’t always make you happy, it’s love – although money helps! As the song says ‘Who wants to be a millionaire?’
It’s been a pleasure seeing this all unfold before my eyes and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of watching as I have directing it.
