From writer and director Kirk Jones, I SWEAR tells the inspirational true story of John Davidson and his journey from misunderstood teenager to one of Britain’s leading advocates for people with Tourette syndrome.
Growing up in 1980s Scotland, John’s life changes when he develops uncontrollable physical and vocal tics. Diagnosed with Tourette syndrome at the age of 15, he faces ridicule, hostility and isolation from those who do not understand his condition.
With the support of those who see the person behind the symptoms, John begins to accept himself and finds a new purpose: challenging prejudice and campaigning for greater understanding of Tourette syndrome.
Winner of two BAFTA awards, including Leading Actor for Robert Aramayo and Casting. Aramayo also won the publicly voted EE Rising Star Award.

A deft balance of prickly and sweet that's bound together by Robert Aramayo's knockout performance, I Swear doesn't sugarcoat the challenges of Tourette syndrome while delivering an uplifting tale of resilience.

Disillusioned English teacher Tom Michell takes a job at an elite boys’ school in Buenos Aires, hoping for an easy life. But after rescuing a penguin from an oil-slicked beach, he finds himself unable to get rid of his new companion. As the penguin becomes an unlikely fixture at the school, Tom begins to connect with his students and rediscover his compassion for those around him.
Directed by Peter Cattaneo, the Oscar-nominated director of THE FULL MONTY, and starring Steve Coogan and Jonathan Pryce.

he Penguin Lessons is appealing even if it curiously elides some disturbing geopolitical history, and is elevated by a winning performance from Steve Coogan with a little help from a lovable pint-sized companion.
