USE OF THE VOICE IN THEATRE - WORKSHOPS

Being heard on stage is one of the most fundamental – and most overlooked – skills in theatre.
Whether you’ve learned your craft from TV ot film, or simply never had the chance to explore voice work properly, these workshops are for you.
Audiences losing words is one of the most common complaints in non-professional theatre, and even in smaller spaces, acoustics can catch you out.
We are delighted to have Jo Stevely – remembered for her performance as Katurian in The Pillowman, last November – leading these sessions.
Jo holds a BA in Acting for Stage and Media from the University of West London and has trained under Jeremy Stockwell (RADA) and Steph Morgan (Both Feet Acting).
Jo’s approach works from the body outwards: expect play, physical exploration, and practical tools you can use immediately – not a lecture.
Workshops are open to Talisman Theatre members only, and limited to 10 participants each workshop. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Use of Voice in Theatre - Workshop Application
FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIAL
Friday night is our social night and open to all Talisman members. This is a chance to get together and meet up for a drink and a Theatre chat.
Starting from 8:30pm onwards.
Friday night socials are also open to any non-members who want to pop down and find out more about the theatre – we’d love to welcome you so feel free to join us and chat to one of the team.

Calling all board game enthusiasts and curious newcomers! Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking to try something new, our Board Game Café is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Bring your friends or make new ones while enjoying a variety of games in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
What to Expect:
- A selection of games provided for you to play.
- The option to bring your own favourite board games to share.
- A welcoming environment for all ages and experience levels.
This is a free event, so come along and join the fun! Coffee, tea, and soft drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
No need to book – just drop in anytime between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM. We can’t wait to see you there!
