PRESENT LAUGHTER by Noël Coward

The first show of 2025 will be ‘Present Laughter’ by Noël Coward and we’re delighted to welcome back Vanessa Comer as director for this production. She was the producer for our Noël Coward-themed Fringe performance earlier this year and has previously directed at the Talisman pre-Covid. We’re excited to see this production come to life with Vanessa in the director’s chair.

Vanessa shared, “Present Laughter is a light comedy, written in 1939 but not performed until after WW2, and offers interesting roles to the whole cast with a starring vehicle for the actor playing Garry Essendine who was modelled on Noel Coward himself. I have suggested ages for the characters (see below) but casting will depend entirely on the relative ages of actors selected rather than insistence on actual age. This show is great fun, stylish, full of farcical moments and opportunities for bravura performance. I’ll be hoping for a keen, friendly company that can pull together to do justice to the work of ‘The Master’.”
