Comedy Steps Into the Spotlight at the Talisman

The Talisman Theatre’s comedy nights have been a hit in the foyer – but this month they’re moving onto the main stage for the very first time. On Sunday 31 August, audiences can expect a night packed with laughter as some of the UK’s top comics head to Kenilworth.

The show will be compered by Birmingham-born comedian Harry Jenkins, a familiar face to Talisman regulars after performing at both previous sell-out foyer gigs. Harry has helped shape the line-up, which features Andy Fox, Mad Ron, and headline act Ignacio Lopez – star of Live at the Apollo, QI, and Have I Got News for You.

Harry describes Ignacio as “one of the best headliners in the country right now”, fresh from a tour that sold over 15,000 tickets. He also highlights Mad Ron as a personal favourite: “a character act who’ll be perfect for the people of Kenilworth.”

For Harry, returning to the Talisman feels special. Having reignited his comedy career in 2022 after first trying stand-up as a teenager, he now performs full-time and also runs successful shows including Comedy at the Castle in Warwick. He’s excited to bring that energy to the Talisman:
“It was such a lovely bond with the audience here, I said we should take comedy into the main room – and now we have!”

While Harry won’t perform a full set this time, he’s looking forward to his role as compere: “Your job isn’t to be the funniest person in the room, it’s to be likeable, big up the acts, and create the best environment for them to shine.”

Audiences won’t have long to wait to see more of Harry’s comedy either – he’ll be back at the Talisman in November with a solo show that will be recorded live.

Harry is clear about what he hopes for the Kenilworth crowd:
“I would really love people to fill out the theatre and make the town have a comedy night to be proud of. The more people come, the better the line-ups will be. The Talisman is so beautiful and people really need to support it.”

🎟️ Tickets for Comedy Night: Live at the Talisman on Sunday 31 August are just £15 – available now via the theatre’s website.
