“He defied everyone; to change everything”
Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, A COMPLETE UNKNOWN follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician BOB DYLAN’s meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts – his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation – culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.
In 1961, an unknown 19-year-old Bob Dylan arrives in New York City with his guitar and forges relationships with musical icons such as Johnny Cash and Joan Baez on his meteoric rise, culminating in a groundbreaking performance that reverberates around the world.
The film will be shown with an intermission with the bar and ice creams available.
A near perfect biopic. The screenplay gives a great insight into the early career of Bob Dylan and doesn’t overlook the darker aspects. Timothée Chalamet is brilliant as Dylan while Boyd Holbrook almost steals the show as Johnny Cash.
