The Talisman Theatre are proud to present its first relaxed performance of this year’s pantomime ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.
This performance will be dedicated to creating a welcoming and more ‘relaxed’ environment for families or individuals with sensory needs and other visible and hidden disabilities.
Experience the inclusive magic of panto with adjustments to ensure a comfortable and accessible theatre visit for all:
- No strobe lighting
- No pyrotechnics
- House lights will remain on throughout the show but will be dimmed
- The audience is free to move around and make noise during the show
- Auditorium doors will remain open
- An introduction to the show and principal characters immediately before the show
- Opportunity for a theatre familiarisation sensory tour before the show*
- Theatre familiarisation video tour – link will be shared ahead of your visit
- Visual Story Pack – this will be shared with you ahead of your visit
- Reduced capacity in the auditorium – to allow movement to free space if needed
- Quiet area in the main foyer with access to a screen showing the performance
- Talisman volunteers will be easily identifiable on arrival to help you on the day
- If you think your child will need ear defenders please bring these with you. We may have some spare ones available on the day but these will be limited.
So come and join Jack, his mother Dame Trot and his many friends as they climb the beanstalk and encounter the world of Giant Blunderbore. With laughter, music and fun for all, we’re excited to share our first relaxed performance of this timeless family favourite.
Age guidance: This performance is recommended for age 3 yrs old and above. Everyone attending, including babies (in arms or on laps) & young children, must have a ticket. This is a health and safety requirement of the theatre to ensure that we are protecting all audience members in the event of an emergency.
*The familiarisation tour will take place on Sunday 8th December between 11am – 1pm so make a note in your diary and we will send a reminder nearer the time to invite you along if you feel that you’d benefit from this pre-show visit to the theatre.
